Whew - That was fast!

Can you believe Christmas Day has come and gone! It seems I blinked and it was over!
I finally got a good picture of DH! Had to catch him in the middle of a story so he wouldn't throw his hand in front of his face or stick his tongue out. Great photo, don't ya think?

Now comes that long period of winter when there aren't any Holiday celebrations. It is just cold with short days. I tend to get a little meloncholy this time of year. It is my goal to avoid that this year. Maybe I will make it a New Years Resolution, right under losing weight!

Things are going to get real busy from now until Christmas, so I wanted to take a minute to wish everyone of my friends and relatives a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
And a special note to my dear departed Boomer - we miss you boy! And we love you more than you could possibly know! Merry Christmas Buddy!

The Tree Is Up!

Now it is starting to feel like Christmas...

The tree is up, the house is decorated (inside), and I have gotten off to a very good start on Christmas shopping! YAY for me!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Now that the wedding invitations are done, I have finally started on Christmas cards. They have to be quickie cards, but it's the thought that counts, right?

Invitation Progress

Making wonderful progress on the invitations! ALL of the RSVP's are done! All of the invitation fronts are done, except I ran out of red ribbon. I will get some tonight so I can finish tying the bows! The envies are in! The only thing left are the insides... I need to print and cut the vellum and adhere them to the inside. After that, all I need to do is create an insert with directions to the church and the reception. DD brought a stack of engagement photos to enclose in them. We are almost ready to go!
Maybe I will get some Christmas cards made after all!

ARRGGHH!

Well, I cannot find enough of the little red buttons that I need to make the invitations and RSVP's! So, we have switched to silk roses, which is appropriate because the theme of the wedding is red roses.
Last night I received the envelopes in the mail, and guess what? Right - the RSVP envelopes are too small! I have searched and searched and cannot find the right size! I definitely should have measured the envelope first and made the RSVP's next! DUH?!? I can order custom envies, but not less than 1000! I only need 75-100!
So - I guess we will make the RSVP's again, but this time make them 1/4 inch smaller!
Advice for anyone who plans to make bulk invitations ... Buy the envies, then make the cards to fit! Also ... before you start making the invitations, make sure you can find all of your supplies!

Odie - see the resemblance?

Ok - so when we adopted our little rescue dog, he came with a name. The more we tried to convince this little guy that his name was Quincey - the more we realized that we HAD to be WRONG! "Quincey" insinuates sophistication, NAH! "Quincey" indicates scholarly, NAH! "Quincey" relays a message of confidence, NAH!
The more we got to know our little fellow - the more we realized that we have seen his charachteristics before! Yep - you guessed it, Odie - from Garfiled!
We have officially changed his name to Odie!
He even responds to Odie!
What do you think?

Hello from the South

Well, we made it! Lots of terrible traffic, but 16 hours later we made it. We have been having loads of fun visiting, and eating of course! Quincey's name has been changed though. He is now Odie! You know the one, Garfield's sidekick! Well, that's him!
Well, I hope everyone is having a safe and happy holiday! Thanks for visiting! Til next time...

Wedding Invitation Progress

Last night, DD and my Dear Future SIL came over for dinner and then the three of us worked on invitations. We got all of the RSVP's done, except we ran out of red hearts, which have been ordered and shipped but not yet received. I had already cut and folded all of the wedding invitations. Last night, while I was printing, future SIL was busy cutting and using my scalloped square punch and DD was steady gluing. We really had fun! I think they will always have a special memory of making their own wedding invitations. I hope they include this in their memories of me as well.
Oh yeah, DD called to say that the church for the wedding and hall for the reception have both been booked!
I'll keep posting our progress as time goes by.

Quincey's First Visit to the Beach!

Yesterday, we took Quincey to Ocean City for his first day at the Beach! Boy! Did he ever have a blast! At one point, me & Quincey were posing for a pic in front of the ocean, and Daddy (Bob) was taking the pic. He didn't bother to warn us that a rather large wave was crashing behind us! Of course, he says he was looking at the camera and not through the lense at the time. Yeah, ok, right! Anyway, me & Quincey were taken down in icy cold salt water! Brrr! But we had fun anyway! Quincey was the recipient of ALOT of attention! And of course, he just LOVES that!
TFS in our day!

Dear Daughter's Senior Picture

Isn't she LOVELY?? Of course, I'm not biased at all! lol :)

Tagged by my friend Riggy!

1. If you could have $100.00 worth of scrapbook paper or assorted embellishments, which would you choose?
Hard choice! I would have to say paper though! I am SO addicted!

2. If you had to choose between only using stamps or rubons, which would you choose?
Definitely stamps!

3. If you knew how to do awesome cards and layouts and could only do one for a whole year....which would you do?
Most definitely cards!

4. Would you rather own a scrapbooking store or have your own scrapping room at home....(can't have both..he,he,he.)
Hmmm... I guess stock my happy room like a scrapbook store and I'm all set & ready to go! (hee hee)

5. And last but not least, what is your CURRENT cardmaking or scrapping style....
I tend to make cards whimsical and cutsie.

Either that or they are retarded!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Well, today is Halloween! I cannot believe how fast this past year has gone! It is only 3 weeks away from Thanksgiving, which we will be visiting my Dad and Big Sister in GA, so YAY!! Someone at the post office yesterday said "it is less than two months until Christmas!" ARGH! I am SO not ready for the holidays! I love them, but I tend to get stressed. Every year I tell myself to calm down because Christmas really isn't about gift, dinners, decorations, etc. It is about the birth of Christ. And it is a time for celebration, worship and fellowship. Everything else is just the small stuff. As I said, I tell myself this, but I must be using my husband's voice because I just don't hear it! (hee hee)
Well anyway, everyone have a safe Halloween. Look out for little ghosts & goblins if you are on the roads tonight!

How You Know You Are Driving Too Fast!

Samantha Lynn

Our beautiful daughter Samantha and her boyfriend Cory for Homecoming - 10/13/07

This dog will be the death of me!!

As I said before, we are camping this week. Well, this morning, at 6:30 a.m., in the rain (yes, again!), Quincey got away from me. He had his zippy leash attached to his harness. Unfortunately, when a dog runs while attached to a zippy - it chases him. Well, my little guy is afraid of most things and he was trying very hard to outrun Zippy. I looked everywhere for him, I cried and I prayed for all I was worth. Well, God must have agreed that this little guy REALLY needs his family, because I found him hiding under a car that was parked close to where my car had been earlier. Thank the Lord! He was all muddy but I didn't care. I hugged and kissed him and I'm sure he thought I was trying to squeeze the life out of him! If I had any doubt if I loved this little dog yet, I certainly don't now!

Funny thing happened...

Of course, it wasn't a bit funny at the time!

We are camping this week for the Halloween Celebration at the local campground. So, every morning, I take Quincey home and get myself ready for work. Well, this morning, it was raining (hard!) and when we got home, I pulled partially in the driveway and saw a large limb laying in the driveway. So I got out of the car, at 6:30 in the morning, in the pouring rain, and drug the limb off the driveway. When I went back to the car, there is Quincey, wagging his tail, toungue hanging out, and he was standing on the DOOR LOCK!! Yep! He locked me out! So, the car is halfway in the road, the lights are on, the car is running, the dog is in the car, and where is my purse, and cell phone? RIGHT! In the CAR!! Lucky for me, my in-laws live down the road. So, I walked, in the dark and the rain, to my in-laws, pounded on the door until someone got up, got my Father-in-law's key to my house, and went back to my house, praying that DH key to my car would be inside! Thankfully, it was! So, I got the key, went back to the car, unlocked it, climbed in and pulled the car to safety. At which time, I placed Quincey, ever so lovingly, in the kennel! What a way to start the day!!
